For our customer Smiths Medical you as Regional Transportation Specialist will manage and support the daily transportation activities. The Regional Transportation Manager ensures that shipments into or out of the organization are handled quickly, safely, and within budget constraints.

Responsibilities/Duties of the Regional Transportation Specialist:

• Manage and support the daily transportation activities for Smiths Medical. The Regional Transportation Specialist ensures that shipments into or out of the organization are handled quickly, safely, and within budget constraints. Will coordinate with outside companies that provide freight services. This role will be regionally based to support those activities within the designated region.
• Implement global Transportation strategies and plans for assigned region's Supply Chain.
• Help develop transportation service providers to provide the highest quality service at the lowest cost.
• Lead, support and supervise the external Transport Management System in managing the European transportation service providers for the inbound, outbound and intercompany lanes.
• Supervise daily transportation activities and documentation to support regional internal and external customers.
• Lead regional transportation cost reduction projects to drive down overall supply chain costs and lead global lead time reduction projects with all carriers to drive down inventory at the global DC's and to prevent backorders.
• Responsible for regional Transportation operational management, and execution for all inbound, inter-company, and outbound transportation services required.
• Manage regional freight pay and logistics documentation teams and supervise regional freight pay and audit activities.
• Responsible for delivering on all short and long-term transportation requirements to/from global suppliers, manufacturing plants, distribution centers, and customer locations involving all modes of transportation including air cargo, ocean, full truckload, less-than-truckload, and small parcel.

You will be working either remote (from home) or from theire EMEA DC located in Wijchen

- Salary depending on experience between €52.000 and €65.000 per year incl. Holiday Allowance.
