Design and test engineer Marine Systems (v-ZEL)

MARIN Wageningen (6708PM)

Contract: Uren: 32 - 40Salaris:

Job description

Would you like to assist in developing a virtual Zero Emission Lab (v-ZEL), the ‘digital twin’ of a physical ZEL that we are also building, to develop a ship with ‘the engine room of the future’? This is your opportunity.

What are you going to do?

In your projects you analyse operations and perform design, calculations, modelling and testing of marine systems and components of both labs. You set up specifications and configurations for additional modelling and tests of R&D projects, model validation projects and verification of customer applications in v-ZEL and ZEL. You perform multi-disciplinary, model based systems engineering (MBSE) for concept designs of ship power, propulsion and energy systems. You perform Failure Mode Effect and Criticality Analysis (FMECA) on the system designs. And you take care of several applications.

Who are we looking for?

An passionate candidate with a master or PhD in mechanical, control or marine engineering. You are  experienced and have affinity for marine systems. Programming skills in C#, C++ and Python are considered a plus. We are  looking for a team player who likes to take initiatives for improvements.

What do we offer?

You will work at MARIN, an independent and globally recognized top institute in hydrodynamic and nautical research. And with a relevant mission: to make shipping cleaner, smarter and safer and to contribute to the sustainable use of ports, waterways and the sea. You develop yourself in a network of 400 specialists and will have plenty of opportunities to choose your own route.

Knowing more?

Moritz Krijgsman, team leader, is happy to tell you more about the position: He is available at: T +31 (0)317 49 33 30. You can apply for this position via https://www.marin.nl/careers. You can respond to this vacancy until 8 June 2021.
