Contract: Uren: 32 - 40Salaris:

Job description

Join the development of our new simulation centre featuring maritime bridge simulators, different types of virtual and augmented reality systems, haptic systems, a cable robot and hexapod motion platforms

What are you going to do?

You will join our Software Engineering team within our Simulation & Visualisation department. In the coming years, MARIN will develop a completely new Seven Oceans Simulator centre (SOSc) in which various maritime bridge simulators, different types of virtual and augmented reality systems, haptic systems, a cable robot and hexapod motion platforms will be brought together. The aim of the new centre is to provide a safe environment where complex and critical maritime operations can be carried out for research and training purposes.

You develop VR/AR applications in combination with MARIN’s real-time simulation software Dolphin. You work together in a team of other software engineers, human factor specialists and specialists in the field of maritime operations. You will have the opportunity to experiment with the latest VR and AR resources, be involved in the development of SOSc and participate in innovative research assignments.

Who are we looking for?

An enthusiastic VR/AR expert with preferably a degree in software engineering. You like to work in teams, have an agile mind-set and can quickly learn new technologies and programming techniques. Creating amazing applications and immersive experiences comes naturally to you and you have a keen eye for innovations in software development. You will be developing software using the .NET framework and real-time development platforms such as Unity.

What do we offer?

You will work at MARIN, an independent and globally recognized top institute in hydrodynamic and nautical research. MARIN’s mission is to make shipping cleaner, smarter and safer and to contribute to the sustainable use of ports, waterways and the sea. You will develop software in a highly technical environment and your deliverables will have a direct impact in achieving our mission. It will be easy to meet key players within MARIN because of its horizontal organisation and open-door culture.
