MARIN Wageningen (6708PM)

Contract: Uren: 32 - 40Salaris:

Job description

Are you looking forward to develop, verify and validate simulation software for seakeeping and ocean engineering and to have impact on the mission of MARIN? Join our team!

What are you going to do?

You will operate within the R&D department in our Waves & Motions Team. You will carry out practical and scientific research in the field of numerical simulations for Seakeeping and Ocean Engineering. You will test, verify and validate nonlinear time-domain simulations against available model tests by performing first complex simulations for present and future applications. Furthermore, you will support our colleagues from the business units in applying your research results and develop the technical workflow based on requirements of our business units. In other words, you will be the bridge between (in-house) code development and application within projects for customers.

Who are we looking for?

An enthusiastic candidate with a degree in maritime technology (or similar), and high interest in numerical simulation studies. You have good analytical, reporting and presentation skills. You should also have a good command of the English language and be willing to learn Dutch if that is not your mother language. You are a team player and able to take initiatives for improvements in close collaboration with colleagues in the different departments of MARIN.

What do we offer?

You will work at MARIN, an independent and globally recognized top institute in hydrodynamic and nautical research. And with a relevant mission: to make shipping cleaner, smarter and safer and to contribute to the sustainable use of ports, waterways and the sea. You develop yourself in a network of 400 specialists and you are given every opportunity to choose your own route.

Want to know more?

Arjen Koop, team lead Waves & Motions, is happy to tell you more about the position: +31 (0)317 49 32 68. You can apply for this position until 14 November 2021 by using the APPLY button. Within 2 weeks after the closing date you’ll receive our response to your application.
