In 2017, they started modernising the production culture, machines, supply chain, production planning software and the quality system. Now after 4.5 years they conclude that a big step has been taken but that within the factory there are still opportunities for optimisation and modernisation in many areas. In order to reduce short delivery times, particular focus is needed on reducing changeover times, among other things by implementing more modern and flexible machines. Guaranteeing the quality of suppliers is important, as is internal quality management. In 2020, the new ERP / MES software went live, making the production planning more transparent. Good English and German language skills are a must

General description of the role

In your daily work, you are involved in the entire process to deliver the output of rims in accordance with the established agreements regarding time, quality, budget and the required technical qualifications. You are thus the 'spider in the web' between the supply from the suppliers and the various departments, and ensure that all work processes are clear.

In addition, your colleagues also know how to reach you when it comes to (structural) 'bottlenecks' in the process, and they expect you to come up with a solution so that the problem can be resolved. Ideally, you will have located these 'bottlenecks' yourself through your very sharp analytical skills and proactive attitude.

Given the nature of the job, you are naturally a person of initiative, and you take the initiative by using your broad technical knowledge to discover future problems in their early stages. In addition, you can inspire, motivate and naturally convince colleagues to achieve the common goal.

Team and people; As a production leader, you are actively involved with the employees on the shop floor. That is where you have to deliver results, and that must be your challenge. You shape and implement the personnel policy and ensure that both individual employees and your team develop themselves and contribute to the LEAN process.

Planning and control; The daily close monitoring and adjustment of the production will give the production manager insight into how and where the production efficiency can be increased in order to deliver the output of rims, in accordance with the established agreements regarding time, quality, budget and the required technical qualifications.

Quality management; securing the quality system according to Lean principles, whereby quality control takes place during the process.
