Programmer (at the rank of IT Officer/ IT Technician) in the Clinical Trials Centre (Ref.:536747)
The Clinical Trials Centre (HKU-CTC) is a leading clinical trials management platform established under The University of Hong Kong LKS Faculty of Medicine (HKUMed) and is dedicated to managing and facilitating international-standard clinical trials on new drugs, medical devices and medical technologies. We are seeking a high calibre IT professional to join our Information Technology Unit as a Programmer.
Main Responsibilities:
Analyze user requirements and contribute to system, database and architectural design;
Conduct system and integration testing, data migration, and prepare technical/ user documentation;
Design, develop, and deploy in-house IT systems, web applications and web services;
Maintain, support and enhance existing systems and applications;
Research, evaluate, and recommend new technologies to support digital transformation;
Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements:
A Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline;
A minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience (fresh graduates may be considered for the position of Programmer);
Proficiency in .NET (C#, ASP .NET Core MVC) and PHP development;
Practical experience with modern web and mobile technologies, including HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, JavaScript and AJAX;
Experience with following popular robust frameworks is an advantage (e.g., DevExpress, Blazor, Entity Framework, Laravel, Symfony, Codelgniter, ReactJS, Angular, or similar);
Sound knowledge of relational database management systems (e.g. MS SQL and MySQL) is required;
Familiarity with DevOps tools (e.g., Git, Azure DevOps, Jenkins) is an advantage;
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a high level of attention to detail;
Self-motivated and able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team;
Excellent command of both spoken and written English and Cantonese;

The appointment will be made on a two-year fixed-term full-time contract, to commence as soon as possible with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, together with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme at 10% of basic salary.
