Beschrijving functie
Purpose
The jobholder will provide support with developing and managing the long-term multi-business land transport strategy for raw materials, intermediate and finished prodcuts for Business Units in Europe and Asia regions in order to maximize plant efficiency, to optimize logistics costs, working capital and to achieve best in class customer service and safety targets as agreed with the individual businesses.
Key accountabilities
Provide support to the Purchasing Manager Land Transport & Warehousing with Tender Projects, Cost Analysis Projects or any
other Logistics Projects. Discuss and negotiate rates with non-strategic suppliers in agreement with the Purchasing Manager Land Transport & Warehousing. Perform regular bench mark studies in order to validate whether purchased transport- and/or warehousing rates are competitive and in line with market conditions. Request and/or approve provision of new (spot) rates in compliance with SOX reguirements. Stay abreast of market developments and maintain up-to-date reports on cost developments fuel costs) and any other relevant trends. Participate in tactical review meetings with LSP s as appropriate and provide support to the Businesses in case of (structural) performance issues with selected LSP s, including claims support as needed. Work closely with the Purchasing Information Department to develop, build up and maintain a centralized freight rate data base with up-todate information on purchased rates, terms and conditions. Maintain cost reporting on all land transport and warehousing key cost developments savings). Effectively interface with all business centers in the Huntsman group as appropriate Establish a proper management information flow to the relevant parts of the Corporate Purchasing organization and/or business centers.
Job requirements
Bachelor degree in Logistics/Material Flow or a Commercial degree
Min. 3 years of professional experience in logistics or commercial functions and 5 years of supply chain/operational experience Technical knowledge of the dangerous goods transport legislation (RID/ADR) and detailed knowlegde of “safety in Distribution” Experience with transport to Eastern Europe and/or Middle East is a pre.
