You will mainly act as the planning representative in the production teams and to create a short-term daily production plan for several production lines such that customer demand is optimally met to agreed service levels whilst meeting agreed cost targets and inventory levels;
-Facilitation of the daily and weekly finished goods planning cycle;
-Communication and resolution of service risks with the midterm planners;
-Act as a first point of contact for our material planners and incorporate feedback on resource availability on the plan;
-Delivery of planning continuous improvement projects including the finished goods inventory and waste reduction program;
-Facilitate the finished goods production planning of innovations;
-Ensure optimal plan for the inbound flow of materials.
Key responsibilities
Daily planning cycle – Maintain short term production schedule (1-2 weeks) for defined production lines:
-Maintain schedule on the basis of changing customer needs, production performance, quality failures or other output disruptions (e.g., material availability, logistical volatility) such that operational targets (e.g., waste) are met;
-Planning support of the daily production meeting, and measurement of line performance vs plan on daily and on weekly basis (e.g., output reliability);
-Initiate and lead the daily communication between Planning and other departments for impact of plan changes;
-Support communication and resolution of identified service risks with midterm planners through critical one pagers or other forms of communication;
-In case of significant service risks, be part of the category or cross category crisis team to solve it;
-Manage inbound flow of materials in order to satisfy production requirement and coordinate internally with warehouse for the receipts of materials;
Weekly planning cycle:
-Each week extend the rolling horizon into the short term schedule and convert the mid-term plan into a detailed schedule which optimizes the production sequence for production (both Sourcing Unit planned and planned lines);
-Review of the previous week output reliability data to identify risks to future output, and identify short term risks and areas for improvement;
-Application of FG events planning approach for key promotions and innovation launches;
Contribution to ongoing continuous Improvement:
-Analyzing and identifying top losses from which to drive focused improvements;
-Leading and participating in supply-chain improvement projects and if necessary, working out the details of and introducing projects/sub-projects for one's own area of specialization;
-Flagging poorly performing processes and making proposals for improvement;
Other activities
-Creation and generation of local planning masterdata for new Finished Goods in local and central systems;
-Maintenance of the Sourcing Unit capacity plan and other key planning parameters;
-Taking over the tasks of colleagues in their absence in order to ensure the continuity of operations (active back-up);
-In the lead for masterdata production planner tasks related to innovations (e.g., masterdata hygiene and continuous improvement).
