For our client, based in Rotterdam, we are looking for a Financial Controller (m/f/x). The Financial Controller is responsible for timely and accurate financial reporting of the business and internal controls and ensures compliance with accounting standards and with government regulations.
Tasks and responsibilities of the Financial Controller:
Timely and accurate financial reporting of the business per the various cycles, including the preparation of monthly trial balance, management accounts and 3 statement accounts for purposes of consolidation into the Group accounts; annual statutory reporting and budgeting and reforecasting preparation and variance analysisConduct detailed margin analysis with a clear understanding of the revenue and cost driversAssisting the senior management team with cost control, identifying areas for efficiency and savingsImplementation of internal control policies, systems and procedures and measuring their subsequent complianceClear understanding of the balance sheet and ensure reconciliations are done on a regular basisDevelopment of key tools for financial analysis and controlManagement of the external statutory audit process, including providing timely, complete and accurate information to the Group for them to meet its external and reporting obligationsTreasury management and cash flow planning in coordination with Group requirements.Tax compliance (corporate) and the implementation of tax planning strategiesAnalysis of the impact of changes in accounting standards and/or tax legislation on the businessDocumentation of accounting policies and procedures consistent with the group requirementsEnsure integrity and appropriate understanding/analysis of business units/reporting entities submissions and overall consolidated figuresEnsure accurate reporting in a multicurrency environmentManaging and delivering process improvement around key areas of cash management, order to cash (AR), procure to pay (AP & payments cycle), inventory and CapexSupporting the business in various projects - ERP implementation, financial integration of new businesses, streamlining and centralising of finance processes, IFRS transition Profile
Bachelor and/or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance or EconomicsCIMA, CGMA, CPA or ACA designation is preferredExperience with Big 4 or Medium tier audit firm is highly valuedIFRS experience is a plus5 or more years professional experience requiredExperience with Microsoft Dynamics is a plusProficiency in Microsoft Office (Power BI, Office etc. is a plus)Problem Solving & Pragmatic mentalityAbility to manage and lead teamProactive and goal orientedGood communicator and relationship builderHands-on and self-drivenInterested
