Who are you?

You are a senior designer, with experience in thinking out and designing attractive and accessible front-ends for web-applications. 

You are someone who takes initiative, has lots of ideas, and is able to channel those ideas into a vision as well as, into UI designs.

You are able to make design decisions involving other stakeholders (customers, developers, specialists) as much as possible.

You like working in a passionate development team, to make our software better and our customers even happier.

You have experience as a senior/lead frontend designer and you like to be responsible for the design, usability and accessibility of our applications.

Who are we?

We are a fast-growing scale-up, developing and delivering large web-applications in the ed-tech market. 

We currently have a team of 26 people, with several nationalities, and a 50/50 male to female ratio. 

Our software is being used for digital testing & examination, designing online learning paths and building ePortfolios.

Our software is flexible and has a lot of features and possibilities that have a tight integration with many of our customers. We have a very high customer satisfaction rate and are proud of what we make.

Our company has its office in a former 100-year-old school building, in a green environment near Nijkerk and Amersfoort. We have a flat and open organizational culture and work with a young but experienced team of developers, implementation specialists, service desk and sales employees.

You will first be part of the RemindoTest exam application team, but can later cross over to other teams and products as well.

What are you going to do?

You will be working on our existing software product, which is already being used on a very large scale by well-known organizations in the Netherlands. At the same time, we have ambitions to rapidly scale up internationally, giving you a huge user base that will really profit from your work.

Together with our team, you will contribute to the introduction of a new design language for our applications, (re)design new and existing functionalities, and provide our development team with valuable feedback on how to further improve the usability of their work;

• You will help us reach our big ambitions, by making our applications easier and more pleasant to use, and implement a consistent and recognizable brand style across the whole organization;
• You will be responsible for delivering designs ready for technical implementation in web-applications, so you know your way around CSS, HTML and preferably JavaScript.
• While designing a feature, you can make the trade-off of using an existing CSS/component framework when needed, or creating something from scratch;
• You are always on the look-out for new ideas and enhancements, you keep your eyes open for inspiration from other applications and designers, and are constantly thinking about enhancing the design and user experience of the applications that you are working on;
• Finally, you are able to describe your ideas to our developers in an effective manner, and document your choices in a way any (future) designer or frontend developer can understand and pick up on your ideas.

What are we looking for?

You recognize yourself in the following description:

• You have a high education level, or you can demonstrate thinking and working at that level;
• Love working on overall designs, as well as coming up with smaller but important 1% improvements;
• Knowledge about setting up design systems;
• Know the challenges of integrating a new design in existing applications that are already widely used;
• Find accessibility guidelines really important and know how to implement them;
• Knowledge of HTML5/CSS3;
• Familiarity with CSS frameworks like Bulma, Bootstrap or Tailwind (UI);
• Familiarity with JavaScript frameworks like VueJS;
• Like working in a SCRUM-team;
• Like working with other nationalities;
• Creative and solution oriented;
• Able to communicate designs to developers and other stakeholders effectively;
• Does research to stay up-to-date on the latest technologies, best-practices and competitor UI-designs;
• Confident in giving your opinion, but are also eager to learn from others;
• Test your designs internally and externally and adjust when needed;
• You are fluent in English and can understand Dutch at an intermediate level.
