Job Description

For the Technology Resources department in Amsterdam we are looking for a:

Technology Engineer

As Technology Engineer you are responsible for initiating, leading and executing projects that are driven from a productivity, quality, cost or HSE standpoint. You are expected to analyze the production processes and identify improvement opportunities for which you evaluate the feasibility. As opportunity manager and process expert you are able to define the technical scope of improvement (CAPEX) projects in cooperation with Engineering, Maintenance, HSE and other departments.

As technical expert you contribute to structured troubleshooting efforts in order to find root causes for operational problems that cannot be solved easily by the operations department. You are able to take initiative and make decisions in order to ensure productivity.

You will provide technological and organizational assistance in the introduction of new products and/or production technologies and cooperate closely with research and technology, engineering, maintenance and operations. 

In your function you will support both HPC and CMF production organizations.

Responsibilities:

• Initiate, coordinate and execute projects based on process innovation, optimization, health, safety and environment (opportunity manager, licensor, CSU manager)
• Represent the operations organization in technology or expansion projects (licensee)
• Troubleshooting for complex operational problems
• Coordinate the implementation of new products or processes in the plants
• Make sure that the plants can operate in compliance with legislation and anticipate to future legislation
• On call service (once every 5 weeks) may be part of the job requirements

Requirements:

• Masters degree in Chemical Engineering or Bachelors degree with some work experience
• Experience in a similar role in the process industry is a pre
• Ability to show initiative, convince and make decisions
• Analytical, goal oriented and pragmatic
• Good communication skills
• Fluent in English and min intermediate Dutch language knowledge
