About the Position

We invite applications for a fully funded PhD position in Electronic Packaging. This project aims to address critical challenges in miniaturization, embedding, designing, thermal management, and reliability of electronic modules. The research will focus on developing innovative packaging solutions to enable next‑generation electronic packages and modules.

Job Requirements

• Master’s degree in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related fields.
• Strong background in data analytics, electronics, thermal analysis, or material characterization.
• Knowledge of packaging processes and technology is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills and proficiency in English (written and oral).
• Ability to work independently and in interdisciplinary teams.

Conditions of Employment

Doctoral candidates will be offered a 4‑year period of employment, typically in two contracts: an initial 1.5‑year contract with a performance assessment within 15 months, followed by an additional contract for the remaining 2.5 years assuming satisfactory progress.

Salary and benefits are in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities: €3059 – €3881 gross per month (first to fourth year), plus 8 % holiday allowance and an end‑of‑year bonus of 8.3 %.
