SAP Functional Lead Consultant

What you'll be doing

You will be taking care of operational tasks and develop the group of application specialists in maturity and functional performance. You’ll set clear team goals and manages availability with the Team Manager ERP for future demand / capacity needed and delegates tasks to team members and set deadlines, to ensure the optimal maintenance and development of the applications.

The SAP Lead consultant sets the example for the team and can create an inspiring team environment with an open communication culture. You will oversee day-to-day operation and delivery of IT-deliverables, monitor team performance, and motivate team members. Furthermore, you’ll come with suggestions regarding training needs and provide coaching with development plan and on technical issues. Listen to team members’ feedback and resolve issues or conflicts. Also, you recognize high performance and provides feedback to the Team Manager to reward accomplishments. Encourage creativity, risk-taking in a continuous learning environment.

Main Tasks

Responsible for daily operations and coaching of a specialist group as part of the Application Department.

Responsible for IT Delivery Services, continuous improvement of procedures, work instructions and applying standards and proactively signal improvement points and plans and implements them.

HR Functional responsible for development of a group of application specialists. Next to the daily operational administrative tasks, focusing on development and assessment of people.

Responsible for optimal team set up, knowledge sharing in the specialist group and to colleagues in other time zones.

Cooperates closely with hosting provider, Infra department, customer coordinator on performance of application services offered by hosting provider, within agreed SLAs, KPIs and quality standards

Main contact person of the application group to Business, application groups or other IT teams regarding subject matter expert content of the team

Providing input to the Team Manager ERP for the Application roadmap

Responsible for technical development within the team by mapping competence levels and proposing development plans.

Follows closely trends, developments on the application portfolio of business processes in his/her own area together with the Team Manager and IT Business Partner

The SAP lead Consultant has or is:

Team lead skills / leadership competencies

Able to replace the Team Manager in decision boards/project executive level when needed

Able to think on a strategic level in IT and Business Coaching and sparring capabilities of peers

Expert understanding on the subject is covered within the team. Challenge business requirements and aim for the simplest solution to cover the need

Expert in communication with customers and suppliers

Ability to handle cross-application work

Expert in operational and functional skills

Ability to recognize and solve problems in a structural way

Keen interest and eye for people management and people development

Expert level of functional knowledge within the area of responsibility

Several years of experience in full cycle delivery projects in the field of business application delivery management within the area of expertise

Knowledge and experience of implementing and working with several methods and standards for maintenance, development, test management

Knowledge of methods and standards in the field of process-driven operations (Cobit, ITIL)

Knowledge of Agile & scrum methodologies

Significant knowledge of IT-architecture and project management (Prince2)

Strong English skills, both written and verbal

Experience with and comfort working in a multi-cultural, multi-discipline organization is an advantage
