Overview
The MS&T department consists of the Product and Process Research and Manufacturing Improvement departments. As Director you will be responsible for managing the department and thereby supporting medium- and long-term development of the higher market segment product portfolio and introducing product and process improvements to optimize output and efficiency in and across the production facilities. You will install and advocate a thorough, company-wide mindset of continuous improvement and drive the subsequent implementation of continuous improvement into the day-to-day operation. You will report to the CEO and lead a team of 2 managers and indirectly 25 employees. This role actively influences business operations in the Netherlands and maintains close interaction with our international owner, the Cyrus Poonawalla Group from India.
Responsibilities
- Managing, coaching and motivating the team.
- Contribution to the integral strategic plan of the company.
- Translation of company goals and objectives into departmental goals and objectives.
- Realization of annual plans for defined activities to support departmental and company goals and objectives, including budget (CAPEX, OPEX) and staffing requirements (internal and external).
- Preparation of the department's annual budget and management of relevant (CAPEX/ OPEX) budgets.
- Monitoring compliance of the department’s procedures, regulations and work instructions.
Qualifications
- MSc degree in Bio Technology, Immunology, Microbiology, Bacteriology, Process Engineering or PhD.
- Knowledge and experience with integrated management in a complex professional organization.
- Broad and in-depth substantive and methodological knowledge of your own field.
- Skilled in developing strategic policy and work programs.
- Knowledge and insight into relevant technical developments for the organization.
- Scientific, technical and business knowledge on human vaccines with an accent on the needs in the higher market segment.
- Experience in cooperation in an international setting.
- Experience in polio vaccine field is an asset.
- Membership of a relevant network is an asset.
- Experience in managing people.
- Fluent in English.
- Experience and training in managing projects (Lean, Six Sigma).
