Senior Software Designer Clinical Applications / scrum master ambition


We are looking for a strong C++ and C# software design engineer to develop and enhance our portfolio of state-of-the-art interventional cardiac and vascular medical applications (e.g. balloon angioplasty and stent procedures) of the Philips Azurion image-guided therapy system.


In this role, you have the opportunity to get to know that the average heart beats about 100.000 times daily. And that more than 7 million people each year die from coronary heart disease so, innovation, prevention, diagnosis and treatment is essential to reduce this number and improve the life of the patient.

What you will be doing

The software team's main goal is to de-risk technical designs in an early stage and demonstrate this with early prototypes (Advanced Development) as well as finalizing these clinical applications and bringing them to the market (PDLM Product Development Life cycle Management). Of course we expect you to not only create high quality working software designs considering the medical device compliance, but also to actively participate in our SAFe and scrum ceremonies and contribute to the continuous improvement efforts of the team, software, and processes. Naturally you keep abreast of technical knowledge by studying and implementing state-of-the-art programming techniques and development tools, participating in educational opportunities, participating in communities, files invention disclosures.


To be succesful you have the following experience

  • At least a Bachelor degree in Computer Science (or equivalent);
  • 5 years' experience developing high-tech applications in C++ and C# (.NET);
  • Excellent programming and design skills in modern C++ / C# (.NET) and very familiar with implementing graphical user interfaces (for example with frameworks such as QT or WPF) on Windows, Mac or Linux desktop environments;
  • Familiar with advanced and product development processes, for medical devices would be an advantage;
  • Able to share knowledge across teams and strives for continuous improvement;
  • Strong in collaboration with a broad variety of stakeholders including the software center of excellence and system engineering.
  • Build bridges between disciplines and scrum teams in order to fulfill scrum master activities;
  • Experience as a scrum master is a plus;
  • Flexible and open attitude, good communication skills in English (and preferably Dutch language);
  • You have a passion for Code Craftsmanship and take pride in all aspects of software development;
  • Dedication to unit testing, code review and other quality-oriented practices;
  • Experience with CI/CD and automatic end-to-end testing via build pipelines, simulators and on physical systems
