What will you be doing

Migrating 3 major car platforms from (self) hosted solutions to a managed environment in EKS, also helping the team transition to a self-steering approach. The following will be at the core of your responsibilities:

• designing and delivering cloud infrastructure on AWS, specify (code) environments using Infrastructure as Code techniques, and optimizing cloud assets
• automating as much as possible of the day-to-day operations and deployments, maintaining a robust and highly-performant CI/CD pipeline, and continuously improve cloud environments
• optimizing the developers’ environments and processes

Our teams are building on our automotive websites with the single purpose of helping millions of people every month to find their next car. We list thousands of dealers and hundreds of thousands of cars on these platforms. The teams are working in a high-performance, high-availability scenario where the emphasis is on quality rather than speed. Our teams are in transition from working top-down to a self-steering approach. 

We work with: Linux, Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, CI/CD Tooling, Terraform, JVM environments, Elasticsearch

Who you are

You will be the sparring partner for our senior DevOps Engineer which is why we expect you to be an experienced DevOps engineer. We’re looking for a self-starter who has an own opinion on architectural alternatives. Also you:

• have experience with most of our stack, experience with Kubernetes is important
• love taking ownership
• are patient and a strong team player
