Linux Senior system Engineer - Amsterdam -Up to €60K - Redhat/Puppet

For one of my business partners i am looking for an experience Linux system Engineer. This international company is based in Amsterdam and has other offices arround the world.

Due to an increasement of duties, they are looking for a new collegue within their IT infrastructure team.

The IT Infrastructure support Team is responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation and maintenance of systems. The team members participate in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure and ensure that system hardware, operating systems, databases, and related processes and procedures adhere to organizational values, enabling proper business functionality.

The IT Infrastructure support team is accountable for the following systems: Linux and Windows systems, Oracle and SQL databases, Cisco / Juniper network components, Storage and Back up environment.

Your main responsibilities as Senior Systems Engineer will involve:

• Analyze, design, develop and test Linux systems to ensure the integration of software, hardware, reliability, maintainability, and other specified requirements
• Formulate operational concepts through technical research, benchmarking and vendor participation
• Perform mission, functional, cost-benefit and risk analysis
• Provide input on selecting systems architecture, as required
• Prepare systems documentation and specification
• Provide technical leadership on one or more projects
• Explain and present complex technical subjects and processes
• Tracking vulnerabilities and applying appropriate patches and upgrades
• Works closely with peers in the IT Infrastructure team by designing and conducting training programs; providing references and support.
• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
• Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
• Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
• Participate in on-call rotation
• Help maintain and support the physical activities required to run a 24x7 Production Data Center environment

Required Skills & Experience

• Five years of experience as unix/linux system administrator
• Experience in CentOS Linux, Apache HTTP Server, general network design and web application
• Familiar with the following S/W products:
  • Redhat Linux
  • CENTOS
  • Tomcat
  • Puppet
  • Zabbix
  • RPM
  • Apache Web Servers
• Need to be well versed on all operating systems (Unix, Linux, Windows) and existing technologies (DNS, NTP, LDAP, SMTP, SSL, etc) required to keep systems functioning.
• Preferably RHCE certified
